Milgard vs. Simonton Windows: Two Vinyl-Focused Makers Compared
Both sell vinyl windows, but their warranties differ by region, line and labor coverage. A side-by-side based on each company's own warranty documents.
The short version
We don't claim one is better or cheaper; we found no authoritative price comparison. What differs is structure. See our Milgard guide and Simonton guide for the full picture.
Materials and lines
Milgard lists vinyl (V400 Tuscany, V300 Trinsic, V250 Style Line), C700 fiberglass and A250 aluminum. Every Simonton window we found is vinyl, in lines including 5500, 5050, DaylightMax and StormBreaker Plus.
Warranty structure
Milgard's standard warranty (effective January 1, 2026) gives the original owner-occupant a lifetime frame warranty and others 10 years, with glass breakage not covered and skilled labor covered only for claims within 10 years in its Service Territory. An optional, non-transferable Full Lifetime Warranty on V400, V300 and C700 adds non-specialty glass breakage and paid labor.
Simonton's terms depend on line and region. The East-region 5500/5050 warranty excludes labor, while the West-region DaylightMax and Madeira warranty covers glass breakage and labor for products installed in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii. Builder and Contractor lines are covered only as long as the customer lives in the home.
How to decide
Check which region and line you're quoted and get the exact warranty in writing. Our vinyl windows guide covers what to look for in a vinyl quote, and our installer vetting questions cover the installer side.
